Gary Verheyen

Operations Director

Gary started his career with Corporate Facilities Group in 2005 as Facilities Manager/Director of Operations for the Circuit City Stores, Inc. Southeastern Regional Headquarters Building. Gary manages the 187,000+ square foot property, which houses the Carmax Auto Finance Center for Carmax and the J.P. Morgan Chase, Circuit City Credit Card Division.

Gary moved to the Atlanta area in 1985. He then worked for Koppens Industries as Emergency Service Engineer, in food processing plants in North America. Then going on to work for National Linen Service Industries in Atlanta as a Chief Engineer of there new Hospital Laundry Service Center. Gary coordinated the renovation of an older facility into a full service Hospital Laundry Facility.

In 1995 Gary moved on to Allied Food a pet food company. His responsibilities there included a Production and Engineering Staff of over 45 personnel. He managed production scheduling, maintenance scheduling for a six day work schedule. During his time there the production increased over 20% with less down time due to equipment failure. This was achieved through a tough Preventative Maintenance Program started by Gary to ensure minimal down time.

During these years Gary became experienced with ammonia refrigeration and large boiler systems. Safety was a big concern to Gary and he always looked for ways to make all situations safer. He developed training classes and directives to help in the betterment of the job. Always following and reading up on the OSHA and EPA guidelines.

In 2001 Gary was recruited by Gwinnett Medical Center to be an Engineering Supervisor. He started out managing the 2nd and 3rd shift maintenance department in a Hospital Campus of over 1.3 million square feet. He was then transferred to there Joan Glancy Hospital and Glancy Outpatient Center to oversee the Engineering Department in the two facilities and to work with the General Contractors in the construction of the Gwinnett Medical Center Duluth in regards to the Engineering Department. When the Joint Commission would inspect his facilities he worked close with the inspectors to ensure full compliance with all codes and rules that were issued by the Joint Commission. All of the hospital facilities that he worked in passed the inspections by the Joint Commission.

Gary served in the USMC for 8 ½ years becoming a NATOPS Flight Evaluator where he trained Combat Helicopter Crews on CH-53A/D Helicopters by doing this he learned the need to be attentive to detail in all you do because the outcome is beneficial to all he works with and he developed his core ethics in all he does to be the best at all he can do or achieve.
