After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Construction Management Bill began his career in Facility and Construction Management with the Hyatt Hotels. Bill joined Corporate Facilities Group, Inc in June of 2004 as Director of Operations. Bill's primary responsibility is to oversee the Milwaukee Veteran Affair Regional Office located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bill was very involved with the construction phase and the commissioning of this new facility. With Bills leadership and technical capabilities he was very instrumental in organizing and implementing warranty tracking, commissioning, startup, FF&E Management and the day to day operations.
Spending just under 3 years in Hawaii, Bill started as a Management Trainee at the Hyatt Regency Maui and quickly moved on to become a Supervisor and Project Manager at the Grand Hyatt Wailea before being relocated to California.
For the next four years, Bill was assigned to the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport where he was the Assistant Director of Engineering. Because his immediate supervisor was the Regional Director of Engineering, the entire maintenance division was Bill's complete responsibility including a staff of 23 employees. This hotel consisted of 793 Guest Rooms with over 60,000 square feet of meeting space covering a total of 800,000 square foot of building.
Bill's final stay with Hyatt took him to the Hyatt At Fisherman's Wharf where he was the Director of Engineering for the 313 room Hotel. At this point Bill's role expanded to include complete control over capital purchases and owner improvements as well as operational budget forecasting and financial management of the maintenance division. Hyatt was a tremendous learning platform and Bill realized most importantly to exceed the customer's expectations is the most important characteristic that will set you apart from the competition.
Originally from the Midwest, Bill decided to relocate near his roots and moved back to Wisconsin in late 1999 after almost 10 years with Hyatt. Switching to the energy management field, Bill was employed with Orion Lighting and Energy Services from 1999 to 2003. Acting as a Project Director, Bill managed over 80 projects for Wisconsin's "Focus on Energy" program while delivering about 4,250 KW of electrical savings through performance contracting.
Longing for a return to Facility Management Bill took a position with Touchmark Development as a Director of Facility and Plant Operations. An Independent Living Environment covering approximately 40 acres, Bill was once again responsible for all aspects of facility management.
